An active small dog living around 20–30 years. The Red Collared Lorikeet settles well into households here given shade, water and a routine that respects the afternoon heat.

Caring for a Red Collared Lorikeet in central India
- Heat: shade and water are not optional here. Move activity to the early morning from March onward.
- Exercise: two walks a day, and do not over-exercise a young dog while the joints are still forming.
