Rainbow Lorikeet

The Rainbow Lorikeet is a small dog, high energy, typically living 20–30 years. Central India runs hot and dry for much of the year, and that shapes the first twelve months with this breed more than anything in the breed standard does.

• Training: loose-lead walking and reliable recall, both set in the first three months.
• Paws: check between the pads after every walk; this is where problems start and get missed.
• Feeding: portioned to the adult size, with any brand change phased over a week.
• Checks: an annual vet visit booked before the hot months, not during them.
