Is the Dusky Lorikeet right for Narala's climate?
Narala has a humid coastal climate, which means the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention. The Dusky Lorikeet is a small-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed, and with the right routine it adapts well here. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions. Through the long monsoon in particular, small adjustments keep your bird comfortable and healthy.

Raising a Dusky Lorikeet in Narala: local climate
Narala is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Dusky Lorikeet needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C. A light sweater helps a small Dusky Lorikeet on the coldest nights.
The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 26 | 31 | 36 | 40 | 41 | 34 | 30 | 29 | 29 | 28 | 26 | 24 |
