Is the Dusky Lorikeet right for Kandarpur's climate?
Kandarpur has a warm and humid climate, which means moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips. The Dusky Lorikeet is a small-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed, and with the right routine it adapts well here. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues. Raising a Dusky Lorikeet in Kandarpur: local climate
Kandarpur is hottest in April, averaging 38°C in the afternoon. A Dusky Lorikeet needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from June to October, and August is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 27 | 31 | 36 | 38 | 37 | 33 | 31 | 30 | 30 | 30 | 28 | 26 |
