Is the Dusky Lorikeet right for Barwani's climate?
Barwani has a hot-summer / cool-winter climate, which means extreme summer heat and a brisk winter both need planning across the year. The Dusky Lorikeet is a small-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed, and with the right routine it adapts well here. Keep deworming and vaccination on schedule — seasonal changes can stress the immune system. Watch for seasonal coat shedding as temperatures change and brush accordingly. Through the peak summer and winter swings in particular, small adjustments keep your bird comfortable and healthy.

Raising a Dusky Lorikeet in Barwani: local climate
Barwani is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Dusky Lorikeet needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.
Winters are mild, with January nights around 12°C, so cold is not a concern.
The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.
For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
| Month | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| High °C | 30 | 34 | 38 | 42 | 43 | 37 | 32 | 30 | 31 | 32 | 32 | 30 |
